We're pleased to offer the following services in our Richmond Veterinary Clinic:

Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination and preventive health care program. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help prevent and alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions in the best of health:

General Physical Exams and Vaccines: The physical exam is the cornerstone of optimal pet health care. The veterinarian will assess your pets risk factors and recommend a personalized vaccination and parasite program.

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services on-site.

Surgical Services: Our surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures, including soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.

Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using highly trained staff and equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.

Radiology Services: Our on-site X-ray equipment provides radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.

Electrocardiography Services: We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.

Dentistry: Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.

Oncology: We provide diagnostic, surgical and chemotherapy services for pets with cancer.

Therapeutic Laser: Our Class IV therapeutic laser is used for surgical patients and for conditions such as arthritis, injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, wounds, lick granulomas (anything else?)

Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

Permanent Identification: We offer microchip identification and registration services.

Pharmacy: We maintain an inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.

Individualized Flea Control Programs: We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pets.

Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight management and performance.

Behavioral Counseling: We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.

Emergency and Critical Care: Our veterinarians are all experienced in dealing with emergencies, and urgent cases are seen as quickly as possible during business hours. Please call our main telephone number for instructions for after-hour emergencies.

House Call Services: For some pets and/or owners a trip to the veterinary clinic can be difficult or stressful. We offer house calls for most outpatient services.

Most of our patients are seen by appointment. Please call 613-354-2330 to schedule an appointment at your convenience with your preferred veterinarian.
