He had fluid in his lungs they said and honestly … More they could prolong his life but he wouldn't be the same and the cost was unreal so we chose to let him go so he wouldn't suffer. The staff at Richmond Veterinary clinic were amazing. So much compassion and they were very clear about how he would always be suffering somewhat. They took us to a room and let us spend time with him. Absolutely the best I swear. They got him in right away and didn't make the choice for us we were given options about what we could do. And this t even our regular vet clinic...they deserve 5 stars if not more. Thanks to the vet and everyone who were there. You made it the best you could in the circumstances

One of the … More best parts was their dedication to an stress-free environment, they prioritize keeping cats and dogs apart which i deeply appreciated. Their dedicated cat room was everything and it was clear that the vet was incredibly knowledgeable and truly understood feline-specific needs
I also deeply appreciated their transparency. They provided an estimate beforehand and were upfront about all costs during the appointment. They even gave me two different treatment options to fit my budget without any judgment
They listened to every concern, managed to calm my cat down (which is nearly impossible!), and had me out the door within two hours with a solution and medication. They were so kind in helping me understand how to prevent this in the future. Highly recommend! - Bringing my animals here for years and will continue to do so. The vet tech went out of her way to help my dog. Later visited by the best vet ever to work on my animals. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Not only did they ask all the other clients for a moment of silence while they sent my boy to heaven, they also asked the construction workers to hold off work; they all removed their hats and stopped working during the procedure. It was the most peaceful experience I have ever encountered during one of the most difficult times. Could not recommend this business enough.

Arriving at the clinic, we were offered a comforting room….not a “doctor’s office”…Tilda and I were welcomed to a comfortable sitting room and she lay down without fear or apprehensions. The doctor softly explained the procedure and expectations, and supported Tilda in her crossing over with gentleness and compassion.
It must be so difficult for the staff to participate in such emotional moments…I hope they can see the love it takes to look after our pets right up until their last breath,

Prices were higher, there was an expectation that I'd purchase everything, but the quality of care was not higher. In Kingston, I felt like my dog was a commodity. What a contrast to the care my dog and I have received at RVC. Dr. DeMille knows my breed and applies her knowledge to his care, as well as helping me understand how to best care for him, too. And know what to expect and how to tell when things are not well. When aspects of health went wrong, she took out her books and explained what was happening to him. She was understanding when my income was low, and rather than judging me, she worked with me to help get the best options for him, given the circumstances. I watched as she sought second opinions with her colleagues when there was a small mystery, and no matter what did not judge me, and always took the very best care of my dog. He came first. This was evident in every interaction. This vet clinic is human, which means it is not always robotically perfect. But my experience there will forever define what it means to be a great vet - Dr. DeMille !! - and a great clinic. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!
